Not every plant thrives on every soil. It is therefore good to measure the pH of the soil. You can find out how to do this here.

Not every plant thrives on every soil
Every plant has different requirements. You have to take care of one lovingly, others need your rest and are robust and resistant. Some plants only grow in the sun, others in the shade. And some place high demands on the floor.

Here the pH value plays an important role, because not every plant thrives on every soil. One needs acidic soil, the other doesn't. The rule is that most plants get along quite well with a pH of 5.5 to 7.0. Exceptions prove the rule. Above all, if you want to have sensitive and valuable plants, you should inquire exactly which pH value is required and then carry out a test.

Measure the pH of the soil - this is how it's done
Doing such a test is very easy to do yourself. The specialist trade offers such a test set. Here's how you do it:

  1. Pour a little soil into the glass tube provided and dissolve it in the distilled water that is also included.
  2. Then add a tablet that you will find in the set.
  3. Now the color is compared with the information on the set and the pH value is determined.
  4. Once that is done, planting can begin.
